November 10, 2014 – Founded in 2013 by prominent venture capitalist Tim Draper, Draper University is a top entrepreneurship program in Silicon Valley. In its first year, Draper University graduated 203 alumni who went on to start 60+ companies and raise $6.2M in funding (more stats at http://draperuniversity.com/infographic/).
Of those graduates, three alumni from the University of Toronto (U of T) raised a combined $130k for their startups (source: http://thevarsity.ca/2014/11/03/u-of-t-graduates-receive-130000-in-funding/). Colin Heilbut paired up with fellow alum Mu-Chi Sung to create Bistro – the world’s first cat feeder with facial recognition. Their Indiegogo campaign reached its goal within 3 days of launching. Arun Nijhawan started a water leak detection tool, and Hubert Ka joined the TestLegends team that gamifies education and test preparation.
Like these 3 alumni from U of T, over 60% of students who come to Draper University’s top entrepreneurship program are from outside the US. To join the next class of aspiring entrepreneurs at Draper University’s startup bootcamp, apply online at http://draperuniversity.com/apply-2/.
